LESMAHAGOW Juniors manager Robert Irving has admitted that his side are fortunate to still be in the Scottish Junior Cup.

A below par ’Gow team trailed Perthshire-based East Superleague aces Jeanfield Swifts for much of the third round contest at Craighead Park last Saturday. But they earned a 1-1 draw thanks to Jack Taylor’s stunning second half equaliser.

“We just never got started in the first half,” Robert said.

“Jeanfield treated the first half like a cup tie which meant a lot to them; we didn’t.
