A stitch in time saves nine - and people have been having great fun taking time to learn new skills at a new free sewing workshop at the Lillie Art
Gallery, in Milngavie.
The sewing and embroidery techniques workshops on Tuesdays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm have been organised in collaboration with the Embroiderer’s Guild, Glasgow.
Each week a member (or two) from the Embroiderer’s Guild will be on hand to encourage, guide or demonstrate a stitch or technique and how it can be applied to a craft or functional item.
One of the tutors, Maura McRobbie, said: “Regardless of skill or ability, members of the local community are invited to come along and enjoy the creative art of hand-stitching.
“All that is required is that you bring along your own stash of bits and bobs, and whatever you are working on at the moment.
“You will be welcome whether you are a beginner, a returner, or an expert.
“It’s a great way meet new friends.”
