Milngavie Rock Choir keeps nation singing
Milngavie Rock Choir is helping to keep the nationa singing through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Each day at 3pm, a different leader from Rock Choir groups across the UK will broadcast a free live mass sing-a-long for its 32,000 members and anyone else who would like to take part.
On Friday it was the turn of Milngavie Rock Choir leader Jennifer Sim.
Rock Choir has also announced that it will open its doors to the general public for the new virtual summer term.
A spokesperson forRock Choir said: “In the last 28 days we have achieved a collective reach of one million households with daily dose of uplifting singing sessions and are committed to providing this essential daily routine for the entire Covid-19 lockdown.
“Rock Choir has also opened up its virtual doors with an invitation for the general public to join its existing ‘Rockies’ to take part in a new virtual summer term schedule which started on Monday April 20.
“Rock Choir is celebrating its 15th year and is well-known for its unique formula and focus on the well-being of its members whilst offering life-affirming opportunities to all of those involved.
“The Rock Choir Team is led by Founder and award-winning singer/musician, Caroline Redman Lusher, who is committed to looking after both her team and the ‘Rockies’ through the Covid-19 lockdown and beyond.
Rehearsals take place in 400 towns across the UK, each choir enjoys a fulfilling social life following the choir’s ethos of support and nurturing and using music as a platform for health and well-being.
The lockdown has not deterred the Rock Choir Team or its Rockies as they move to a ‘Virtual Rock Choir World’ allowing the important friendships, connections and support of its members to continue when they are needed the most whilst the learning of new songs and harmonies takes place during live sessions led by their choir leader.
