Western Wildcats 4
The Wildcats picked up all three points on Saturday even though their performance was a bitscrappy at times.
However the experiece that the Wildcats had in the league was more than a match for Watsonins who are the new kids in the first division.
Rhury Smith was first to score, but it was Ross Clunie who did most of the damage with a hat-trick. Coach Harry Dunlop was happy with the result if not the performance, adding, “Western are now joint top of Division 1. We have made a good start to the new season.”
Meanwhile The seconds team beat Grange third team 4-0. Goals came from Cranney, Watson, Redford and Miller. The thids overpowered Irvine 3-1 with goals from Sturrock, Andrew and MacDonald in a decent game to maintain their 100 percent record. Meantime the fourths continued their good form with a 4-1 win at Balgray against Hillhead 5s. Andrew McConnell scored a hat-trick and Rory McDiarmid got the others. The 5s finished things off with a 3-0 win over Uddingston.
And on Sunday the girls drew 1-1 at CALA. They have now won one, lost one and drawn four of their six league games this season and are in fifth place in Division 1.
