THISTLE continued their winning ways with a 3-0 victory at Firhill over Dumbarton to take them to the top of the First Division.
Although The Jags didn’t make the best of starts - almost conceding a goal in 10 minutes - they came back to score the opener five minutes later with a header from Kris Doolan.
Dumbarton almost drew level on 24 minutes but the shot went wide of goal.
Goal number two came in the 62 minute when Paul Paton burst into the box and his cross was steered home by Chris Erskine.
Seven minutes later the points were all but secured. Thistle were able to open up the Dumbarton defence down the left hand side and when Erskine set up Stuart Bannigan he made no mistake powering the ball into the net.
