With West of Scotland FC celebrating its 150 anniversary this year, the club’s mini section is holding a rugby tournament to mark this on Sunday.

The event kicks off at the club’s home ground at Burnbrae, Milngavie at 10am. It will run until 2pm.

Paul Rice, convenor of the mini section said they were expecting a good turn out of clubs from across the Glasgow area.

He added: “We are expecting around 500 children to play matches this Sunday from a number of clubs around Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Our own junior section has in excess of 250 local children from around Bearsden and Milngavie playing every week.

“As a club we are a long established fixture in the local area.”

There will also be music and ceilidh dancing.
