Partick Thistle played the first of their pre-season friendly on Tuesday with a convincing 2-0 win against Eastleigh.
Goals came from Steven Lawless in eight minutes with Frederic Frans nodding home a corner on 30minutes.
It was a deserved win at Eastleigh’s Silverlake stadium with the first half better than the second.
The only negative from the night was when Liam Lindsay hobbled off with what appears to be a muscle injury. Next up for Alan Archibald’s side is a trip to Falkirk on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3pm.
Meanwhile in our issue of July 9 we reported that Jacqui Low had been appointed the first female director of Partick Thistle in its 139 year history. This information came from the club, but reader and former director Allan Cowan from Bearsden said this was inaccurate.
He said: “Margaret Forsyth served with me on the Board of Directors for several years following her appointment in 1998. She proved a diligent, hard working director and it would be a pity if her contributions were ignored due to incorrect information supplied by the press office at Firhill.”
