Partick Thistle gaffer Alan Archibald was delighted to secure the services of Lee Mair at the second time of asking - following a failed attempt to sign the defender last summer.
The 33-year-old has joined on a deal until the end of the current campaign after finding himself out of favour with the Buddies.
Mair has featured six times for the Paisley men and could find himself in the line up for his debut against Kilmarnock this afternoon.
Archibald said: “Lee is a player that we tried to sign in the summer but we couldn’t agree a deal so I’m delighted that we have managed to do so now.
“He’ll help add some experience at the back. It’s not so much a case of those there not playing well, it’s just that they lack a bit of experience and Lee will be able to help them out in that respect. He’s a good player and is fit and raring to go.”
Mair started his career with Dundee and while at DensPark he had spells on loan with East Fife and Falkirk before, in 2004, leaving to join StockportCounty.
He returned to Scotland a year later when he joined Dundee United before in turn joining Aberdeen in 2007.
In the summer of 2009 he headed to Paisley to join St Mirren for whom he had made 140 first team appearances prior to his move to Firhill.
As Lee Mair joins the club one player moves out; at least on a temporary basis. Young defender Darren Brownline has joined Championship side Cowdenbeath on loan till the end of the season.
