Around 40 Kirkintilloch Olympians travelled to Balloch Country Park for the Dumbarton Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 15,

These brave runners faced difficult conditions with steep hills, muddy fields and slippy grass.

All the runners did well and there were various achievements for the Olympians, including first place for the under-15 girls’ team and under-17 women’s team.

The under-13 girls’ team came second and the senior women’s team third.

For the under-13s Hannah Paton was first girl home and Dylan Elliott took third place in the under-13 boys race.

Jennifer Muir was first girl home in the under-15 race and William McNeill was second place in the over 60 male category.

The Kirkintilloch Olympians hope all their runners enjoyed the event and appreciated the travelling support around the course.

Senior runners also gained the Men’s first team prize and Willie McNeil gained second place in the M60 Category.

Ada Stewart also completed the Brecon Beacons 48 mile Ultra Race last weekend, including the mountain of Tor Y Foel.

This arduous race is not for the faint hearted, but Ada was back coaching her junior group on Tuesday night.
