HILTON ParK Golf Club Ladies’ section held their Forbes Trophy recently and the winner was Eleanor Fenner with 34 points. The SSS was 70 and CSS 72 for this event. Runner-up was Norma Choat with 32 points and third was Isobel Anderson 31.
BALMORE Golf Club had a Texas Scramble competition on Sunday August 5, and the results were as follows: 1st: 58 (4.1) 53.9 — T. Byrne, B. Byrne, A. Rattray and R. McNaughton. Four x £100 vouchers. 2nd: 61 (6.3) 54.7 — J. Docherty, J. Alexander, G.King and J. Voy. Four x £75 vouchers. 3rd: 59 (3.9) 55.1 — J. Vickers, A. Vickers, E. Dunley, D. Lyons. Four x £50 vouchers. 4th: 61 (5) 56 — A. Jones, T. McGinley, J. Strachan, S. Rhoden. Four x £25 vouchers.
WINDYHILL Golf Club held its Tuesday Medal recently. The SSS and CSS were both 70 and 52 golfers took part. Results — Scott Dornan 80 (13) 67, Bill Ferguson 84 (16) 68, Oliver MacPhee 78 (9) 69. Scratch went to Steven Maxwell with 68.
DOUGLAS PARK GC held the Ladies Medal 8 and Golf Foundation Brooch events recently. Carol Fell carded a best scratch score of 86 which secured the 1st Silver award with a 86 (10) 76, followed by Fiona Rattray who scooped the 2nd Silver with 96 (19) 77. The 1st Bronze went to Laura Macdougall — 94 (25) 69 —who also picked up the Golf Foundation Brooch, while the 2nd Bronze went to Norma Vallance — 105 (33) 72.
CLOBER Golf Club ladies section held the A Medal on August 8, with 15 players taking part. Caroline King picked up the Silver group with a score of 81 (11) 70, with May Myers carding the best scratch with 81. The Bronze section was topped by Mary Smith — 94 (29) 65 — followed by Gillian Morrison — 98 (27) 71 — while Susan Ferguson claimed the best scratch with 93.
Meanwhile, Clober also held the Arthur Mckay August Medal (Stableford) last Saturday. Results — First Class: (1st ) Clint Maxwell 42pts, (2nd) BIH Gavin Lyons 40pts, (3rd) Jamie Hart 40pts. Second Class: (1st) Stephen McGirr 42pts, (2nd) Robert Wilson Jnr 40pts, (3rd) Jamie Hart 40pts. Third Class: (1st) BIH Gordon Leitch 38pts, (2nd) John Anderson 38pts, (3rd) Robert Gordon 38pts.
