FORMER St Mirren midfielder Hugh Murray has agreed to join Partick Thistle on a two-year deal.
Till this week, the 33-year-old has spent his entire career with the Paisley club and has been inducted into their hall of fame.
Jags manager Jackie McNamara said: “Hugh Murray will bring great experience to the squad but more importantly, experience of winning the First Division.
“It’s important to have a really strong spine to the team and Hugh helps provide that as well as being able to help the younger members of the squad.”
Murray, who had a testimonial season with St Mirren in 2007/08, has twice been part of First Division winning sides.
McNamara has said he wants to get the backbone of his team for next season’s campaign assembled quickly.
As well as landing Murray, the club has also signed 22-year-old defender Aaron Muirhead from Annan Athletic and 21-year-old winger Steven Lawless from Motherwell.
Both players have signed two-year deals with the club, and more new faces are expected during the close season.
Key players like Mark McGuigan, Conrad Balatoni and Paul Paton have already pledged their immediate futures to the club.
