Milngavie golfer Kylie Walker enjoyed her highest finish of the year so far in China last week.
The 29-year-old finished joint 17th in the Buick Championship at the Shanghai Qizhong Garden course in China.
Walker opened with a three over par score of 75 but then carded two par rounds of 72 before closing with her best round of the week, a one-under par 71.
Her efforts earned her £5,700, her biggest pay cheque of the year to date.
She opened her 2016 season with a joint 69th finish at the New Zealand Women’s Open and then followed that up by tying for 20th in the Australian Open.
From there it was on to China, to the World Ladies Championship at Mission Hills where she finished joint 37th.
That was followed by a joint 85th finish at the Lalla Meyrem Cup Royal Golf event in Tanzania.
Next up for Walker is the European Sectional Qualifier for the US Open being held somewhat closer to home at Buckinghamshire Golf Club later this month.
Meanwhile Bearsden’s Ewen Ferguson continued his good form with a fine showing in last week’s Montecchia Open in Italy.
Following his performance in making the cut in his Challenge Tour debut in Turkey the previous week, the 19-year-old maintained his momentum in Montecchia.
In a tournament reduced to 54 holes by rain, Ferguson opened with a two under par 69 and then followed that with a superb five under score of 66 to once again make the cut.
The Walker Cup winner found his third and final round a little trickier, shooting 74 for a three-round, four under par total of 209 which saw him finish in joint 61st place.
The chance to take part in professional circuit events such as the Turkish Airlines Challenge and Montecchia Open in Italy result from invitations secured by Ferguson’s new management company Bounce Sports.
