Great performances by players of all ages at Thorn Park club championship finals day

Players aged from five to 60 took part in Thorn Park Tennis Club’s recent championship finals day with some terrific talent on show.

In total there were over 90 entries across 14 events with players battling for four weeks prior to the finals.

Results: Gents’ singles - Jordan Gray beat Stuart Lisk 6-2 6-1; ladies’ singles - Elise McCaig beat Mirium Bell 6-3 6-0.

Gents’ doubles - Mathew Greenshields & Scott Rankine beat Stuart Lisk & David Cox 3-6 7-5 12-10; mixed doubles – Elise McCaig & Kennedy McCaig beat Stuart Lisk & Fiona McNaught 7-6 6-2.

U18 boys’ singles - Fraser Craig beat Mark Ward 6-3 6-1; U18 girls’ singles - Charlotte Sim beat Erin Duffy 6-2 6-1; U18 boys’ doubles - Finlay Gray & Fraser Craig beat Mark Ward & Scott McDonald 6-4 6-3; U18 mixed doubles - Samuel Haldane & Charlotte Sim beat Mark Ward & Christina Miller 6-3 7-5.

U14 boys’ singles - Fraser Craig beat Mark Ward 6-4 6-1.

U12 boys’ singles – Finlay Gray beat Toby Sim 6-1 6-0; U12 girls’ singles - Erin Duffy beat Katie McCall 6-3 3-6 10-6.

Mini Green - Charlie Munro beat Nathan Logan; Mini Orange - Sandy Fraser beat Stuart Allam; Mini Red - winner Freya Easson, runner-up Alex Burnside.
