Four junior athletes from Garscube Harriers turned in some superb performances at last week’s Antrim International cross country event.

Pride of place went to Anya MacLean who took a bronze medal by finishing third in the under-15 girls race.

Fergus Currie was eighth in the U13 boys, James Connelly fifth in U15 boys and Jack Trainer fifth in U17 boys races.

John Bell, Garscube Harriers’ junior coach said: “It’s been an exceptional season for our junior athletics, which is a reflection of their hard work and commitment. We are now focusing on the national cross-country next month in Falkirk.”

Club president Jill O’Neil added: “The results from Antrim are directly attributable to the fantastic efforts of the athletes and club coaches.

“Their commitment is outstanding and all at the club are exceptionally proud of their achievements”
