With Milngavie Wanderers football club celebrating their 50th anniversary this year the club has some exciting plans for the future.
It is one of the few amateur clubs who own their ground and facilities and they are how planning to build on the strong base of local support.
Spokesperson for the club David Caldwell said: “We now have more resources and have like minded people at the club who are willing to work hard and achieve our goals.
“We have a mixture of skill sets from myself as an ex-professional through to boardroom directors with great personal experience and contacts. In fact such a relationship has just secured a sizable sponsorship deal for the 2001 and 2002 youth teams for next season.”
It has been apparent for many years that Milngavie Wanderers was a bit of a sleeping giant, however the management team now feel they have the momentum and resources to push the club forward.
Part of this is to launch the club as a new community sporting club, which will be called Milngavie Wanderers Sporting Club.
Mr Caldwell added: “Our current structure for the 2015/16 season will have at the pinnacle the Caledonian league amateur team with new manager Jamie Coll. Jamie played junior level with Ashfield and has experience with Arsenal Boys Club.
“Our juvenile managers and coaches have a wealth of youth experience, our new teams will be headed up by Gary Bendoris, Gus Murray and Graham Russell who will manage and coach the newly formed 2001 and 2002 teams and will be competing in the Paisley and District Leagues respectively.”
