An archery trio triumphed at The West of Scotland Championships - with one of the Milngavie group beating three Scottish champions.
Craig Ballentyne, Mark Forrester andLucy Steele , who are all members of Clyde Arrows, which opperates out of premises at Milngavie and Bearsden Sports Club on Auchenhowie Road, were up against a total of 38 competitors from across Scotland.
Lucy and Craig won the male and female recurve category and Mark won his gold in the compound category.
Craig (21), who graduated from the novice category last year, which he won, said: “ Winning the Scottish Championships is just fantastic considering the fact I managed to beat three of the Scottish squad.”
Out of a possible score of 700 in each of the two rounds over 50 metres Craig scored 663 and 600.
He added: “My first round was better. I think I lost a bit of concentration in the second half.”
Club President Robert Whitney said: “BothMark and Craig are keen to get into the Scottish squad, but in order to do so they need a certain amount of points from various competions.
“To win the West of Scotland Championship is quite an impressive feat. There were some top archers , but all three of them put the work in and got the results.”
