Milngavie and Bearsden Bowling clubs are capitalising on the huge success of Team Scotland at the Commonwealth Games.
The two clubs, along with a host of others across Scotland are backing the Try Bowls campaign - to encourage more people to take up the sport.
Launched in July to coincide with the Games and get more people of all ages playing bowls at a local club, the Bowls Scotland Try Bowls initiative is set to continue across clubs throughout September.
The success of the scheme has persuaded organisers to extend the initiative, with it now running until the end of September. It will resume in 2015.
Crucial to delivering the scheme is a new Introduction to Bowls Coaching Award, which is funded by sportscotland’s Class of 2014 programme, and has produced 83 new coaches since June.
