A hotly-tipped Muay Thai boxer is looking forward to a bright future after signing a four fight deal with a top Scottish promoter.
Liam McKendry, who trains at Kirkintilloch’s highly-successful M-MAG gym, recently completed the deal with fight boss Vinnie McWilliams.
Martial arts expert Liam told the Herald: “I’ve had a lot of fights but I’ve taken them at short notice on some occasions and it hasn’t been great from a results point of view.
“It’s been good to help build my experience up but now I want to know what I’m working towards and have a proper fight camp in between bouts.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Vinnie and I’m really excited about the future.”
Liam’s next fight will be in the Rivals Sport Centre in Wishaw on March 20, where he will face top Italian fighter Massimiliano Scarpa.
Vinnie said: “I’ve tracked Liam’s career for a few years.
“He is the youngest ever Scottish professional Muay Thai champion and has real potential to make it on the big stage.
“I believe with the right management and fights Liam has what it takes to go all the way. I’m looking for a massive support to come along and cheer Liam on as he is a big asset to the community and we really need to get everybody behind him”
Tickets for the event are available from the M-MAG gym.
