Rob Roy have kept their quest for promotion on track with a hard-fought derby win over Kilsyth - their fifth league victory on the trot.
The Kirkintilloch team beat their local rivals 2-0 last Saturday, consolidating their second place position in the league.
They now trail leaders Pollok - who they play this Saturday - by nine points, with a game in hand.
Gaffer Stewart Maxwell was delighted with the result.
He said: “We played really well and it was an important result for us.
“It’s first versus second this Saturday. If we win we have a chance and if we lose then Pollok look like taking the title.
“At the end of the day though it would be terrific if we could go up, particularly since we are currently without a ground so are playing every game away from home.”
The Rabs manager has seen a big improvement since his team made an uncertain start to the season.
He explained: “We have a bit of shape about the team now and are certainly getting there when it comes to strength in depth. We had six players out on Saturday but the boys who came in did a great job.”
