Kids come up trumps in junior swimming competition

Several members of the Milngavie and Bearsden Swimming Club competed at the North Ayrshire Junior Meet in Auchenharvie earlier this month.

Many of the swimmers posted personal best times and came away with medals and top six placings.

Jack Wicklow had a strong weekend, winning gold in the boys 11 years 100m freestyle, silver in the 100m breaststroke and completing the set with a bronze in the 200m freestyle.

Jad Muir produced the team’s only other podium finish, taking silver in the 100m butterfly. Other top six finishers included Adam Kennedy with a fourth in the 50 metre back crawl and fifth in the 50 metre fly.

Angus Brolly was fifth in the 100 breast stroke and fourth in the 100 front crawl, while Aidan Johnson was fifth in the 100 back crawl).

Elsewhere there were personal best times from Emma Forrest, Iona Cadger and Lauren Watt.
