There was a second Gold Medal for top junior athlete Catriona Graves this year when she represented Scotland in the Celtic Cross Country in Dublin, recently.
The Garscube Harriers runner competed in the Womans U17/U20 race run over a distance of 4k, which she finished in 15mins to come in third place, behind team mates Gillian Black and Kathryn Gillespie to win team gold. It was a brilliant day for the Scottish Women as they filled the top seven places in the race.
Meanwhile at the Emirates Arena on Saturday, Garscube juniors Calum Esler, Eilidh Smith, Darren McGowan and Arun Smith, rubbed shoulders with the fast and famous during the Sainsbury’s International Athletics Match. The youngsters were on hand carried out duties ranging from kit carrying to result running.
At the Buchlyvie 10k on the same day Garscube man Charles Gordon completed the race in a time of 47mins 36secs.
And on Sunday (25th) at the Victoria junior Parkrun, Garscube’s Beth Trainer finished 10th in a new personal best time of 10mins 3secs.
