FIVE members of Garscube Harriers were in action in the Scottish Veteran Harriers Club’s Open Masters Road Relay at Strathclyde Park on Sunday, January 27.
Alex Chisholm brought the Garscube A Team into 18th place at the end of the 1st leg in a time of 22 minutes, 1 second while Marco Consani pulled the team up to 5th place with a fine run of 20 minutes, 9 seconds on the 2nd leg.
Unfortunately that momentum could not be maintained with Andy Griffiths bringing the team in 13th on the 3rd leg with a time of 26 minutes, 4 seconds and the Harriers finally coming in 26th in a total time of 1 hour 36 minutes 26 seconds with a run of 28 minutes 12 seconds by Tony Hall on the final leg. Raghbir Singh was timed at 29 minutes 51 seconds in an incomplete team.
On the previous day at the same venue young athlete Thomas Wilson finished in 10th place in a time of 19 minutes 47 seconds in his first attempt at the Strathclyde parkrun 5k race and Stephen Wilson came in 27th out of 127 runners in a time of 22 minutes 57 seconds in the same race.
