Partick Thistle have unveiled a deal with their first ever sock sponsor.

Glasgow-based accountancy firm 525 Accountancy will have their their logo appearing on the official home and away socks for the upcoming campaign.

Partick Thistle Chief Executive, Gerry Britton said: “We’re always looking for opportunities to welcome new partners to the Thistle family so we’re delighted that 525 Accountancy have created a little bit of Thistle history by signing up as our first ever sock sponsor.”

Managing Director of 525 Accountancy, Phillip Simpson said: “As a business we’re constantly looking for new and imaginative ways to help our clients and this partnership is one of the most innovative we’ve been involved in.

“We’re proud to be Partick Thistle’s first ever sock sponsor and with our logo stitched into the front of every Thistle sock, we’ll have the perfect view of all the action next season.”

Thistle have also confirmed that seven players whose contracts were due to expire on June 30 have had them extended until July 31.

Britton said: “While there has been plenty of talk about the resumption of football across the Scottish leagues, we are not yet in a place where we can plan with complete certainty and by extension of that our players are in the same position.

“Therefore, we will continue to reserve our right to look after our own while they are still our own. Seven players whose contracts are due for expiry on 30th June 2020 have had their contracts extended until the end of July as we continue to use the government furlough scheme.”

Meanhile Thistle are to get a cash boost it was revealed that all 42 SFL clubs have successfully applied for a grant from the SPFL Trust’s COVID-19 Crisis Fund.

Each club will receive £50,000 from the fund established to support clubs and their communities after James Anderson gifted the SPFL Trust £3,125,000.

Britton said thistle would use the invaluable additional support to make their stadium safe, using it top help fund testing for players and staff, purchase of PPE, assist in the disinfection of the stadium, help install Covid-19 protection systems and ensure critical catering equipment is fit for use.”
