The icy weather caused havoc to rugby fixtures last Saturday with both West and Strathendrick rugby club’s games falling victim to the cold snap.
The last-minute call off means both clubs will have to play their postponed matches next year.
West of Scotland FC were due to play Murrayfield Wanderers at West’s home ground of Burnbrae but following a last minute pitch inspection it was decided the ground was too hard to play on.
Officials took the decision to call-off the and re-schedule it for Saturday January 3.
Of the six games scheduled to take place on Saturday only Lasswade home game against Irvine took place. All other games in the BT National 3 League were fell victim to the frozen ground conditions.
Strathendrick, who play in the BT West Divison 2 league had been planning to travel to Callander to take on McLaren.
However a late pitch inspection also revealed that the ground was far too hard to play on safely so it was decided to postpone it.
A date has yet to be fixed for playing this game, but details will be available on the SRU website when it is decided.
