PAUL CARROLL was the fastest Clydesdale Harrier in the Alloa Half Marathon recently in a personal best time of 1hr 16mis 44secs.
He was followed by Brian Gallagher (1.20.56), Gerry Kane (1.42.24), Steven McKee (1.53.58), Tricia Stevenson (1.59.41), and Evelyn McKee (2.03.16).
Meanwhile in the National Young Athletes Road Race Championships at Riccarton under 13 boy Lewis Priest finished in seventh in the 2,8k race in 10mins 14secs; followed in 56th place by Harry Bothwick (12.17), and Stephen Kane (58th in 12.23). The three also finished as 14th team overall.
Under 13 Girls also ran 2800m. Iona Allan was fastest Harrier in 37th place in 12.25, followed by Sarah Goggins (72nd in 13.48), Chloe Allan (76th in 14.16), and Caitlin Stuart (80th in 15.40).
Iona, Sarah and Chloe finished as 13th team overall.
Next off were the Under 15 Boys running 4500m. Fastest harrier was 33rd placed Brian Aird finishing in a time of 18.17, followed by Lewis Hay (39th in 19.14), Tony Connolly (45th in 19.51), and Philip Allan (48th in 20.03). Brian, Lewis and Tony finished fifth team overall.
Under 15 Girls also ran 4.8k and Charlotte Ross finishing 33rd in 19.28. She was followed by Erin Denny (45th in 22.35).
The club is always looking for new members.
Anyone who would like to come along to a training nights can do so on Tuesdays at St Peter the Apostle School from 6.45pm onwards for track sessions (seniors and juniors), Thursdays - Lusset Park at 7pm for grass session (mainly juniors but seniors also welcome), also Thursdays at 6.45pm - East Thompson Street car park (next to chapel) for road or canal towpath session – seniors only.
