Bearsden Lawn Tennis Club, which has been at the heart of the Bearsden community for nearly 130 years, is holding an open day on Saturday (April 25).
Anyone who would like to try tennis for the first time or to improve their game is invited to enjoy the sport for free in what is The family friendly club which prides itself on being able to offer tennis to everyone regardless of age or ability.
Some of the classes will be showcased. These include mini tennis for 4-9 year olds from 9.30-11.00am and junior tennis for 10-17 year olds from 11-12.30.
And for those aged 16+ who find the gym treadmill tedious they can have a go at cardio tennis from 1-2pm. It is a great new group activity that makes fitness fun, allowing people at all levels to enjoy the game, get a terrific workout and socialise all at once – burning up to 600 calories an hour. From 2-4pm there will be adult social matchplay for those who have some playing experience.
