ROSS ROGER and John Downie, both 13 and from Milngavie, each scored a hole in one at the same hole - the 155 yard par three 15th at Clober Golf Club.
The Douglas Academy school pals were playing a practice game when they achieved their respective holes in one.
John, from Falloch Road, said: “We were just playing a practice round and didn’t know we had done it at first, because it is one of those holes where you can’t see the hole from the start, known as a blind hole. I believe it’s a first for the club.”
John plays off a handicap of 16 and has been a member of the club for the past three years and Ross has a handicap of 22. He has been a member for two years.
John’s mum Christine said: “It was witnessed by Cameron Nivan the junior captain and when we heard we were over the moon.” Christine was with Ross’s mum Christine when both their mobile phones went off simultaneously.
She added: “We went down to the club and put a bottle of whisky behind the bar as this is the tradition.”
Clober Golf Club professional Gary McFarlane said: “This is amazing. I have never seen anything like it before. To get one hole in one is amazing, but to both get one at the same hole is truly incredible and it couldn’t have happened to two nicer lads. They are very well behaved boys and they have got a potential for the future.”
