How to be on trend for school, with sustainable fashion

With plans in place for children to return to school fully in September, it’s the time to assemble school uniforms and other essentials in readiness for the term ahead.

Retailer Frugi is launching a new range of sustainable essentials for children this month, that are made using Pet recycled plastic, which comes from waste plastic bottles.

Packaging of items is also made from recycled paper materials.

For ages six and above, Adventurers’ sturdy backpacks are made from recycled material in a number of different colours and designs.

Features include reflective print details, elasticated side pockets for the Splish Splash Water Bottle, zipped front pocket and hanging loop.

There are zip pulls shaped as clouds, a cloud-shaped name badge and adjustable chest strap, and the bag can take an A4 folder. Costs £20.83.

For younger explorers the Little Adventurers’ smaller backpacks are made from recycled materials and feature the same details as their larger counterparts but in a lighter package, priced £15.

All backpacks come with matching lunch bags, pencil cases. swim bags, and water bottles, priced from £6.67 for a pencil case, upwards.

The Buddy Bottle at £15 can be used for both hot and cold drinks.

Splish Splash Steel Bottles come in two sizes priced £8.33 for small and £11.67 for large.

Children are expected to return to schools and a standard full-time curriculum from early September this year.

They will be expected to minimise contact with fellow pupils.

Classes and year groups will be in distinct social bubbles.

Schools will be required to carry out strict risk assessments prior to their return.

Most pupils have been out of full-time education since March.
