Members of Westerton Male Voice Choir raised more than £2,200 for the charity they supported last season as they gear up for the new one.

Revive MS Support’s Cara Doran was handed a cheque for £2,271 by choir president Eric Hudson following last season’s successful fundraising.

Choir member, Alistair Angus said: “At the start of each new season the choir chose a charity they feel deserves funding and at the start of that season we present a cheque to it.

“Several of our members have relatives with MS, so we felt it was appropriate to chose Revive Ms Support.”

The new season runs from September to April, with Christmas and Spring particularly busy periods. The monye was raised through concerts admission charges and bucket rattling at events such as Partick Thistle home games.

Ms. Doran thanked the choir for their generous support, adding, “Members helped out when I required assistants for a charity collection at Firhill in the Spring. Partick Thistle had just won the league so it was a very successful day!”

Revive MS Support is based in Maryhill and provides support to everyone affected by Multiple Sclerosis both locally and from Outreach Centres elsewhere in Scotland.

The choir’s chosen charity for this coming year is Friends of the Beatson and plans are already underway to match or exceed their latest donation.
