The organisers of Westerton Gala Day were thrilled to see so many people at their popular annual event on Saturday (September 5).
They were also delighted that after months of rain the sun was shining on the day, which made it even more special.
Thanks to the help of 12 new committee members the family fun day was packed with events including inflatables, archery, NERF wars, a magician, Bricks 4 Kidz, a talent show and much more.
The day kicked off with a one mile fun run, followed by the Gala Parade and crowning of this year’s Queen - Katie Brown (10).
This year there was a new fun science event which allowed children to extract DNA from a fruit and store it in a necklace or bracelet, which they decorated with beads.
Meanwhile adults enjoyed the pamper area, craft fair stalls, or putting their culinary skills to the test in the Great Gala Bake Off.
Once again, the Brownie Hut was transformed into a busy tea room, while the bowling club offered tasters and a bar throughout the day.
The tennis club also had lots of activities on court and a smoothie bar in the clubhouse.
And for the first time they had something for our four-legged friends with an agility course set up by Bearsden Dog Training Club.
