Water Works garden is blooming wonderful
School pupils, youth groups and volunteers laid the first seeds at Barrhead Water Works in spring — and now the place is a riot of colour, with old water tanks turned into planters for poppies, marigolds and blue cornflowers.
Claire Bennett, Grow Wild Scotland partnerships manager, said; “The hard work of all those who have participated in the project is evident for all to see.”
The project scooped £100,000 of Big Lottery Fund cash last year, and a video following the story is available at www.communitychannel.org.
