Want to get fitter in this year but you don’t know where to start?
Why not join Jog Scotland Milngavie’s new group ‘Couch to 5K’ which meets for the first time on Thursday, February 4 at 6.30pm at the clock on Douglas Street.
It’s totally free to join Jog Scotland Milngavie (JSM), although you must complete a jogscotland registration form to be covered for health, safety and insurance purposes etc. as they are affiliated to Scottish Athletics and Jog Scotty Scotland.
This fits in nicely with our campaign ‘Shape up for life’ which is being launched at the start of February.
We will be inviting readers to tell us their stories of the changes they are putting in place and how they feel about the differences they are making.

If you want to jog/run/train with JMS all you need to do is join the JSM Closed Group on Facebook and they will give you all the info you need; just search Facebook Groups for ‘Jog Scotland Milngavie.’
They will be following the NHS Couch to 5K: A running plan for beginners
- Week 1: They will begin with a brisk 5-minute warm-up walk, then you will alternate 60 seconds of running, with 90 seconds of walking, for a total of 20 minutes.
