Volunteers helped to keep Westerton tidy

Thirteen volunteers - and Molly the dog - went along to a Keep Scotland Beautiful clean up event in Westerton.

Some of the helpers are pictured here with just one of the three piles of rubbish they collected on the day, which were then promptly removed by East Dunbartonshire Council.

This tidy up was run by Cairnhill Woods Group and its next event is a dawn chorus walk on Sunday, May 4 at 8am with Mugdock Country Park Ranger Fiona Morton.

Phone 0141 956 6100 to book a place.

Cairnhill Woods Group regularly carries out clean ups, to help improve the woods for people and native wildlife.

Please contact the council to report any illegal fly tipping in the woods on 0300 1234510.
