Universal Credit is being rolled out nationally from February this year but East Dunbartonshire residents will not be affected until December.
Council leader Rhondda Geekie said; “We have been advised by the Department for Work and Pensions that the national roll-out of Universal Credit will reach East Dunbartonshire in December 2015.
“As with all aspects of Welfare Reform that have been introduced in recent years, we continue to work with local partners, including Citizens’ Advice Bureau and local Registered Social Landlords and we will ensure we provide further more specific details once these are known.”
