Thugs launch two attacks on buses in two days

Police are hunting stone-throwing thugs after two buses were attacked last week.

The first attack happened at around 7.55pm on Friday, February 12, near to Old Gartloch Road, in Gartcosh.

A police spokesperson said: “The McGills bus was carrying passengers when a brick has went through the window.

“Thankfully no one was injured and again the driver managed to stop the bus safely.

“A group of four-five youths were seen running away.

“One was wearing a red hoody and another wearing a grey hoody.”

Then, at around 10pm on Saturday, February 13, a First Bus which was travelling on Gartferry Road was targeted, and had two windows smashed.

A police spokesperson said: “A youth wearing a grey tracksuit was observed running away into field on Gartferry Road. “Thankfully no one was hurt and the driver managed to bring the bus to a halt safely.”
