East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson has called on local residents to support the Thomas Muir Festival, which runs from 13 – 24 November.
The festival, now in its fourth year, will include creative workshops, live music, art exhibitions and historical tours, with events taking place in a number of local towns and villages.
Ms Swinson said: “Thomas Muir was one of the leading voices for political reform in Scotland, famous for his devotion to the people, and we should be proud of his strong local links.
“Next year marks the 250th anniversary of his birth and for those who may be unaware of the significance of his life and work, this festival provides the perfect opportunity to learn more about him as a local figure who achieved national significance.”
