MILNGAVIE’S hair guru Taylor Ferguson has worked with a string of big-name celebrities in his time but when he opened the doors of his salon the other day he couldn’t have imagined he’d end his day looking after a Hollywood A-lister.

Taylor’s reception team took a call from ex Baywatch and Knight Rider star David Hasselhofff’s people with a special plea for hair help.

Taylor and his assistant Tammy McCreadie were summoned to the actor’s 5-star hotel suite that evening to do the needful.

The Hoff is in Scotland for his starring role as Captain Hook in the panto’, Peter Pan, at the Glasgow SECC and, according to Tammy, his hair request was very specific.

Taylor who’s lived in Milngavie for 38 years said: “The call came out of the blue and had we not been called first from the management at his

hotel to say his people might be in touch we might have thought it was a wind-up.

“When we got to his hotel The Hoff explained that he’s facing a busy run of panto appearances when he’ll have his costume wigs and hats on every day – sometimes twice daily - and he wanted an easy to manage, sharp haircut that would make his job of looking after it easier when the curtain came down each day.

“Along with his cut we applied a special intensive conditioning treatment on his hair to give his hair’s condition a real tonic and improve its appearance.

“He was a pleasure to work with and absolutely charming. He was prepared to listen to everything we advised him on hairwise and said he was

delighted with the outcome. The Hoff is one of showbiz’s biggest names and so we were chuffed when we took the call inviting us along to do the

necessary.

“He told us he’s really excited about being in Glasgow and working alongside The Krankies and Michelle McManus who is also one of our clients.

“He’s promised that when his family appear to see him in the show he’ll send them along to the salon for some pampering too.”

Taylor followed his hairdresser mother Patricia into the family hair business in Lanarkshire before opening up his own salon in Glasgow’s

Bath Street where in 2016 he will celebrate his 40th anniversary.
