Taxman tackles Tillietudlem Restaurant

THE TAXMAN is seeking a winding up order for the company running the Tillietudlem Restaurant over an alleged unpaid bill.

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs presented a petition at Lanark Sheriff Court on December 22 seeking to wind-up the business and appoint as liquidator James Inglis Smith, of Auchingramont Road, Hamilton.

The alleged unpaid tax bill of 46,107.09 includes a non-payment of VAT of 37,259 including interest and is said to date back to the 2008-09 financial year.

The Tillietudlem Restaurant and Lounge Bar Limited was only incorporated as a company on August 4 2008 with its registered office given as Valley International Park, Crossford.

This week the Gazette made several attempts to contact the Tillietudlem's owner Colin Smith.

However, despite repeated calls, Mr Smith was unavailable to comment on the issue.

The HMRC deadline for paying back the money was September of this year.
