Two former Bearsden Academy pupils are opening a dance school together this summer called ‘Euphorix’.
Lorna Lott (nee Munn) (28) and Kelly McVey (26), who also both attended Baljaffray Primary School in Bearsden, have been dancing together since they were tots.
Bitten by the dancing bug aged just two-years-old they always dreamed of opening a dance school.
After ten years of dancing together, the girls went their separate ways with Kelly specialising in Street Dance at schools in Glasgow and Edinburgh while Lorna remained in Glasgow to continue her training at a top school.
Over the years they have graced the stage on theatres in Glasgow, Paris and London with Kelly competing in various competitions throughout the UK including UDO Street Dance World Championships, while Lorna also performed in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent and the final of Sky 1’s Got to Dance.
The pair remained close friends and when they both found themselves back in Glasgow they knew the time had come to open a school of their own.
This summer they’ll open Euphorix Dance Company in Knightswood, offering children and adults of all abilities the chance to learn new skills, keep fit and have fun.
Lorna said: “This really is a dream come true.
“We’ve had some amazing opportunities, like dancing in stage shows and on TV, but we’ve both always wanted to open a dance school.
“There is so much more to dance than the dancing itself.
“It teaches discipline, leadership skills and is a real confidence booster.
“Kelly and I both have lots of experience and are keen to share what we’ve learned over the years.
“It’s going to be great fun and we’re looking forward to the opening.”
