An exciting Milngavie BID project to bring Wi Fi to Milngavie town centre is progressing well - and it’s due to come to Milngavie next month.
The Wi Fi projectwill provide visitors and businesses with access to Wi Fi so they can surf the internet for up to date local information as well as offers, suggestions and news.
The “Our Buzz” app for Milngavie will also be launched to give businesses the chance to provide details of offers and events, an up to date directory, as well links to travel and weather information and news.
Local clubs and societies can also provide information and details of events to show off what is available within the community.
Lesley Shaw, Milngavie BID manager, said: “We hope the Wi Fi will encourage visitors to stay longer, surf the net and keep in touch whilst they are shopping and socialising.
“By linking opportunities with the West Highland Way and all the outdoor benefits on our door step we can promote tourism and market all that Milngavie has to offer.
“We are looking at providing a ‘shop watch’ scheme to support security for local businesses.”
Ian Lavrie, deputy chair of Milngavie BID Board, said: “We are looking forward to delivery of the Wi Fi and the opportunities it brings to support Milngavie as a destination of choice as well as a place to do business whilst meeting the proposals of the BID.”
