Rev Alan Wells, one of the day’s organisers from Castlehill Baptist Church, Bearsden, said: “Five years ago as a Christian community we asked what could we do to make the community we live in more of a real community.

“We came up with the fun day idea. And as everyone sees, a community coming together is a beautiful and powerful thing.

“It has been a real privilege to be involved in this, to see what can be achieved with a bit of effort and some good ideas.”

When asked about the rumour that this was to be the last fun day, Rev Wells said: “We said we would do five. We’ve done five.

“We now need to sit down with this incredibly supportive community and see where we take this revived community spirit. We’re looking forward to great ideas and conversations over the next few months.”
