The Bearsden branch of Slater Hogg & Howison estate agents have been challenged to give something back to their local community as part of the company’s ‘40 years of Heritage’ Celebrations.
They have been given the task of raising at least £500 for a local cause or charity so they’ve decided to hold an art exhibition and sale in their office on Drymen Road to support nearby Bearsden Primary School.
Lisa A Pitchers, area manager for Slater Hogg & Howison, said: “We are making use of our bright spacious office to hold an art fair, gifting all proceeds of the ‘Gallery commission’ which, can be between 30 – 50 per cent of the art work sale price.
“As a former pupil of Bearsden Primary, over 30 years ago, and with a colleagues son starting Primary 1 in the new term, we felt we would like to gift the funds raised from our event to the school.”
Wall space for exhibiting art work has been offered to members of the Bearsden & Milngavie Art Club.
They have already had a great response with over 30 participants each submitting two pieces including works by Bearsden artist Cecilia Forrest.
The Gallery launch evening will be held on Thursday, August 27 from 6pm to 9pm and the works will be exhibited for a full month afterwards to try to maximise sales. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org to attend the launch night as places are limited.
