Shop worker injured after robbers target Kirkintilloch store

Three men burst into Mauchline Stores at Mauchline Court, Harestanes, around 2.05pm and threatened the 49-year-old with a bladed weapon.

Police said the shop worker sustained a head injury as a result of the incident. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and released after treatment.

Officers said the three thugs made off with a number of items from the store which is situated not far from Harestanes Primary School.

A police spokesperson said officers were following a positive line of enquiry into the robbery.
