Douglas Academy Parent Teachers Association are having their fantastic annual family ceilidh, ‘THE FLING’ in Milngavie Town Hall on Friday, February 6 from 7pm to 11pm. This is their main fund raising event of the year and like last year it is a family ceilidh with a great atmosphere and fun night for the whole family. Tickets are only £7.50 each and includes a sumptuous ‘Pie and Pakora’ supper by Chris Caters. Tickets are on sale from The Milngavie Bookshop, The Iron Chef and from PTA committee members.

The Douglas Academy PTA through their fundraising support and sponsors various activities and events at the school which are not able to be covered through normal school funding. Over the past few months the PTA have sponsored the Art Club (£150), Vintage Tea Party for senior citizens (£175), Captaincy Team Alumni (£100) and Support for Learning (£159).

Without the ongoing fabulous support of parents, teachers and the wider community none of the work of the PTA could take place. The family ceilidh is a great way to support the PTA and have a great night and at the same time ensure they are able to continue with their ongoing support to the school.
