THE search is on to find Milngavie and Bearsden school pupils who could be Scotland’s marine renewables experts of the future and the winners of Skills Development Scotland’s 2012 Junior Saltire Awards.
Entries are being invited from the area’s primary five to seven, S1 to S3 and S4 to S6 pupils in the competition.
It follows the success of last year’s inaugural Junior Saltire Awards and the aim is to raise awareness of the opportunities Scotland has to exploit its marine energy potential.
Junior Saltire Award entries can be from a team of four pupils or a whole class and there are school prizes of up to £750 to be won.
Teams are being asked to register for the competition by January 31 and submit their design blueprint by February 29. The next step is to create a working model by April 30.
