Scotland’s golden boy aims to inspire stars of the future

Scottish gold medal hero Ross Murdoch will speak at a special event for those developing the next generation of East Dunbartonshire sport stars.

The super swimmer - who struck gold in the men’s 200m breaststroke at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games - will be one of the star attractions at the Coaching Insight Forum 2014.

The event is being held in St Ninian’s High School, Kirkintilloch, from 26-27 October and coaches, volunteers, teachers and sports professionals are being urged to book up now.

East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture (EDLC) Trust - with backing from sportscotland and East Dunbartonshire Sports Council - is offering the event to help coaches who support clubs, schools and individuals.

As well as Ross, speakers will include Michael Cavanagh - Chairman of Commonwealth Games Scotland - and professionals involved in sports, fitness and facilities - locally and nationally.

There will also be a variety of workshops - all aimed at supporting club coaches to “be the best they can be”.

Coaching Insight costs £10 per person, with discounts for group bookings.
