School pupils urged to enter Christmas card competition

Local MP Jo Swinson is looking for talented young people to submit designs and poems for her Christmas cards again this year.

Jo holds this competition for East Dunbartonshire school pupils every year and the winning design gets sent to over 1,800 groups and individuals across East Dunbartonshire and beyond.

A judging panel of local community figures decide who wins and ahead of next year’s hosting of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the theme this year is “Christmas in the Commonwealth”.

Prizes will be given to the winners in the design and poetry categories, as well as the runners up in each category. Every local pupil who enters will receive a certificate. Deadline for entries is Friday, November 8.

Ms Swinson said: “I’m looking forward to the fantastic entries arriving over the next few weeks.

“The level of the submissions always makes it a difficult task to pick winners.”

Entries should be sent to Jo’s office at 126 Drymen Road Bearsden Glasgow G61 3RB.
