A new online system for parents or carers wanting to apply for an East Dunbartonshire school placing request goes live next week.
It’s hoped people will find the new system quicker and easier than the traditional means of submitting a completed application form via the post.
It will be up and running from Monday, January 11, and anyone wishing to make a school placing request for session 2016/17 should do so before the closing date - Tuesday, March 15.
Councillor Eric Gotts, convener of education, said: “It is our intention that our services are readily available and easily accessible and I’m pleased that parents or carers now have the option of applying for a school place at a time and place convenient to them.
“I’m sure that anyone who applies via the website will find the process extremely straightforward.”
The online application form is available at www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/placingrequests and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Applications can also be made by requesting a copy of the application form at your local East Dunbartonshire Council Hub or by calling 0300 1234510.
Meanwhile, nursery registration is taking place during week beginning 18 January for sessions starting in August 2016, January 2017 and April 2017.
All eligible three and four-year-old children are entitled to 600 hours funded early learning and childcare and extended day provision is also available at designated East Dunbartonshire nurseries.
Registration forms and information leaflets are available from East Dunbartonshire Council primary schools, libraries, Community Hubs, Southbank House (Kirkintilloch), on the Council website www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk or from the Early Years Helpline on 0300-123-4510 Ext 8707, where more information is available.
