MOTORISTS will face travel disruption as a main road in and out of Milngavie is closed for a week.

Auchenhowie Road will be shut to day time traffic from Monday to Friday, with diversions in place.

Keith Scrimgeour, East Dunbartonshire Council’s roads and neighbourhood services manager, said: “In order to carry out resurfacing works, the A807 Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie will be closed temporarily from 25 July from 9am to 6pm each day until Friday 29 July.

“The council aims to minimise disruption wherever possible and these works are therefore being carried out during the school holiday period when there is generally much less traffic on the roads.”

The closure of the A807 will be in place between the junction with the B8049 Boclair Road at Allander Toll roundabout and its junction with Dowan Road, Milngavie.

As an alternative route, vehicles on the south east side of the closure should proceed south west on the B8049 Boclair Road then north on the A81, Milngavie Road in Bearsden and then north east on Woodburn Way. From there, motorists should proceed then east on the B8030 Station Road, south on the A81 Glasgow Road, then south east on the A807 Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie to the northwest side of the closure.

Vehicles on the north west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
