A woman whose £53,000 Audi was stolen by a gang in a terrifying raid at the family home is offering a “hefty reward” after the vehicle was spotted in Bishopbriggs.
Natalie Valenti’s stolen car was seen in the town by a man around 4pm on Thursday, December 31.
The 35-year-old posted on Facebook: “Unfortunately the man who seen it didn’t call the police.
“I’ve driven around the whole area but need to stop now otherwise I’ll go insane.
“Please, please share for me and keep your eyes peeled if you are out and about. I am offering a hefty reward to the person who helps find this.”
She said the black Audi A7 Quattro S-line has 20-inch alloys and its registration is T11 LYV.
The family’s Christmas festivities turned into a nightmare after their home in Cumbernauld was targeted by a gang who threatened one of them, then stole the vehicle.
Police issued an urgent warning that householders fully secure their houses after the terrifying incident in Old Tower Road at 2.10am on Wednesday, December 30.
Police confirm the 39-year-old man heard a noise in his home and on going downstairs to investigate, saw dark-clad males running from his property.
He gave chase, only to have the men turn round and threaten him with the heavy tools they had used to break in.
Fearing for his safety, the victim backed off, only to discover that his black Audi A7 which is worth £53,000 was being driven away by the duo.
Police say that the keys to the car were picked up in the house.
The incident is a particularly nasty example of a house break-in break-in turned car-theft, with thieves targeting homes to steal car keys.
